01 / Profile

Part-time, international, sector-driven.

FH Kufstein Tirol is an Austrian university of applied sciences with a clear business and technology profile. For working career changers and climbers, its continuing-education arm is the interesting part.

FH Kufstein Tirol was founded in 1997 and today has around 2,400 students from more than 60 nations. It is a state-accredited university of applied sciences in north-eastern Tyrol, held by the FH Kufstein Tirol-Privatstiftung foundation. Regular bachelor and master programmes are run by FH Kufstein Tirol Bildungs GmbH, the academic continuing education by the FH Kufstein Tirol International Business School GmbH.

The cooperation with Studienflüsterer runs through exactly this International Business School. It organises its offer into five fields: Automotive & Mobility, Business & Finance, Real Estate & Sustainability, IT & WEB, and Marketing, Event & Design. The MBA is offered as the General Management MBA in six foci, alongside rotating part-time Master and expert programmes and compact micro-credentials. The format is consistently part-time with a blended-learning approach, that is e-learning combined with compact on-site phases, usually once a month on Friday and Saturday.

The flagship is the General Management MBA with 120 ECTS over four semesters, studied in six foci: Focus Automotive & Mobility, Focus Real Estate Management, Focus Leadership, Focus Marketing 4.0, Focus Social Work and Focus Business Psychology. Since the summer semester of 2025, following a legal reform, this MBA is also open without a completed bachelor's degree if there is enough relevant work experience. This exact constellation, an MBA for practitioners without a classic first academic degree, is something I assess often in the first call. How a part-time MBA is structured in general I have summarised on the MBA page.

02 Strengths

What FH Kufstein stands for

Four profiles where I often recommend the International Business School.

01

Further education without a career break

The continuing-education programmes are consistently part-time. Blended learning with e-learning and on-site phases usually once a month (Friday and Saturday) makes the MBA plannable alongside a full-time job, also at a distance from Tyrol.

02

MBA also without a bachelor

Since the summer semester of 2025, following a legal reform, the General Management MBA is also possible without a completed first degree and without a school-leaving diploma, provided there is sufficient relevant work experience. A realistic route for practitioners with responsibility but no academic degree.

03

Six MBA foci

The General Management MBA can be studied in six foci: Automotive & Mobility, Real Estate Management, Leadership, Marketing 4.0, Social Work or Business Psychology. The degree stays generalist and still gains a clear profile for your field.

04

Compact micro-credentials

Besides the larger programmes there are compact micro-credentials and certificate courses, for example a certificate course in applied generative artificial intelligence. Useful to evidence one specific competence without starting a whole degree.
